Marcus Wright

Marcus Wright is a true spoken word poet for the college audience. Wright knows what it takes to please a campus full of students, because he is a student himself, currently taking a break from his junior year at Lincoln University.  He spent the first two years of higher education as Lincoln University’s official special guest at almost every school talent show, performance event or awards dinner. During the weekends he would perform at colleges and universities across the country, growing a fan base and knack for giving students what they wanted to hear.

Born in Queens, now a resident of Staten Island, Wright may be young but it has proven to be an advantage. He has passed through many of the same circles as his counterparts, competing in slams and talent competitions throughout the country and coming out victorious. He’s already performed on Broadway and at other venues in front of some of the biggest names in poetry and urban entertainment alike.

Marcus Wright is a proven underdog, capable of swaying a crowd’s initial reaction by simply uttering his opening lines.  His poem titles say it all, with names like ‘Artificial Intelligence’, ‘Hip-Hop’, and ‘I Miss Her Sometimes’, one can only imagine the insight he can provide to any audience.
