Omar Thompson
Born and raised in Harlem New York, Omar quickly learned he had a knack for making people laugh. Brought up by his mother in a single parent household, Omar used his charm and humor to laugh and joke his way out of punishment (most of the time). While in New York Omar hit the comedy circuit like a freight train, performing two or three times a night. Performing at such popular venues as: Caroline’s, Standup NY, The Improv, The Laugh Factory, The Apollo and many others. Even while being homeless, it never stopped him from pursuing his dreams. Performing around the country with just a backpack of clothes and jokes. Honing his comedic timing and sharping his material helped Omar generate quite a buzz among his peers and within the industry, being recognized as one of the industry’s hottest new comedians. Performing with such comedians as Chris Rock, Mike Epps, Talent, Aries Spears, Capone, Paul Mooney and Kevin Hart.
Omar has been a guest comedian at the Bay Area Comedy Competition, NYC Underground Comedy Festival and Jamie Foxx’s Laffapalooza Comedy Festival. He has also appeared on The Tyra Banks Show, MTV’s “Yo Momma”, TVone’s “Get the Hookup” and BET’s “One Mic Stand”. Alongside his acting, Omar writes his own material as well as material for other comedians.
